Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine since 2009 and Director of the Research Unit of Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology at University of Valencia.
She is also Group Leader at the CIBER Pathophysiology of Obesity and Nutrition since 2006 and Director of the Research Unit of Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology at the University of Valencia since 1998. He obtained a degree in pharmacy from the University of Valencia in 1989, being an Extraordinary Prize for a degree, and, subsequently, an Extraordinary Doctoral Award. She is also a graduate in Food Science and Technology. She began his predoctoral training in genomics at the Institute of Cytological Research in Valencia in 1989, directed by Prof. Santiago Grisolía. She completed her training in genomics and epidemiology in several Spanish and United States centers.
She has collaborated in many national and international groups and has published more than 250 articles. She has directed more than 23 Doctoral Theses and numerous research projects, both public and private.She belongs to the Association of Women Researchers and Technologists and is incorporating the gender perspective in her research projects, specifically through a project of Prometheus excellence for the integration of omics with a gender perspective and other international projects in which she participates. She has been a guest speaker at numerous international seminars and conferences, as well as several years of international stays. Since 2011 she coordinates at the University of Valencia the Spanish Network of Healthy Universities, carrying out Health Promotion activities.
